FAQs
What flight experience do you have?
I flew the A320 for British Midland, which became bmi. I then flew the 747-400 for BA as a First Officer before becoming a Captain on the A320. I also flew the 777 and all types as a TRI/TRE. I then flew for Boeing on the 777, the 787 and the 747-8F with a number of customer airlines globally.
What types are you currently qualified to train on?
I’m currently rated on the Boeing 777 and 787.
What experience do you have working with unions?
In my role at British Airways, I worked extensively with the British Airline Pilots’ Association (BALPA) and enjoyed a collaborative relationship. At Boeing I was responsible for the management of a unionized pilot group. Most recently I renegotiated the Flight Duty Collective Labor Agreement during the restructuring at Brussels Airlines.
In what areas have you provided consulting services?
I have supported teams working on major airline transformations, as well as smaller projects focusing on organizational design. In addition, providing expert advice for due diligence cases.
What management positions have you held?
At British Airways I was the Assistant Flight Training Manager on the 747-400 before becoming the Flight Training Manager on the Airbus fleet with over 80 airplanes and 1000 pilots. At Boeing I was initially the Assistant Chief Pilot for Pilot Services, then Chief Pilot for Aircrew Operations. After leaving Boeing I joined Brussels Airlines as VP Flight Operations, then an interim role as Accountable Manager and Chief Operating Officer, being part of the Management Board.
In what areas do you provide expert advice?
With extensive airline operations experience, I have provided advice on all operational departments, with a main focus on Flight Operations, Ground Operations and Operations Control. Having been involved in pilot training for most of my career this is also an area of expertise, as is manpower planning and new airplane entry into service.
