A Brief outline
My story
I remember well my first flight on a Britannia Airways 737, when flight deck visits were still part of the holiday. I’m so grateful to the crew on that flight that I was made to feel so welcome and to experience their professionalism. Little will they ever know the impact they had on my life.
Going flying still gives me the same buzz, the smell of kerosine, the feeling of excitement as the nose rotates and the gear leaves the ground.
My role in the aviation system has evolved over the last 25 years; from PPL, to aspiring airline pilot, to 747 co-pilot then instructor, to the Head Office, to the training center, to the manufacturer, to an MBA, to senior leadership and executive functions. The one constant has been the amanzing interactions with people also hooked on aviation.
